The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Series from the Creators of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The newest Far Cry title that players explored was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for embracing violence and mayhem with the same enthusiasm, all while presenting captivating, ideologically themed stories. No wonder then that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry anthology series attracted two creators whose projects have represented all of those qualities.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the short-run anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' structure by introducing a fresh backdrop and ensemble in subsequent series.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as executive producers on the series through their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also star in the show, but currently, we do not know what character that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the producer.

“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners constantly supports me with their constant trust and backing.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style program. Each game is a interpretation of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a theme,” said Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can shift from one instalment to the next, while always examining the core of humanity through this complex and unpredictable perspective, is a dream come true. I’m excited to partner with Rob and introduce our common bold, visionary style to the screen.”

A time frame for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
