The Mighty Nein's Introductory Sequence Chose the Wrong Popular RPG Show Song

This latest animated series, the most recent animated series from the beloved role-playing group, revealed a new opening credits. It features the beloved group of outcasts, outcasts, and criminals fighting hard and making their mark, while also hinting at multiple agonizing personal histories for key figures including the voice actor's wizard Caleb, and Travis Willingham's orc warlock, the character Fjord.

All in all, the opening appears stunning. But I couldn't help feeling that something was missing in the music selection.

This sequence employs "Welcome to the Continent", a truly stellar song composed by producer and singer Colm McGuinness. This piece from the official score of the same name, the second release put out by the production company's record label their music brand. It's a great sentimental choice, and I suspect that devotees of the sequel series will love its inclusion.

Personally, The series' intro doesn't quite capture the excitement and excitement that accompanied the show's actual-play adventure. "It's Your Turn", composed by musician the artist, was an instant classic in my view when it was first revealed in 2015, and it improved further when cast member the performer added lyrics to the melody for the series' animated intro in the later year.

Including singing from one actress, another performer, Travis Willingham, as well as Riegel himself, the song was catchy and enjoyable. Back then, I hadn't seen the second campaign yet, but this was such an earworm that I still saved it on my device. It's a song that excites you before you dive into an episode of adventurous fun.

The Mighty Nein's opening with "Welcome to Wildemount" doesn't strike the right notes in my opinion. It's a grand composition, but based on my understanding of the group, I can't help but feel that its mood is somewhat mismatched.

Naturally, Critical Role has already said that the series will have some changes and variations from the actual-play campaign. A tonal change for its opening seems to be among these.

The Mighty Nein will be available to watch on Prime Video from November 19. If you can't wait before that, or wish to prepare to get to know the personas of the second series, the original episodes are accessible on Spotify and YouTube.
