Dive Into this Revamped Classic Journey: A Complimentary Demo for DQ7 Reimagined Debuts Soon.
Players anticipating the launch of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined don't need to wait too much longer. An exciting trial experience will go live on the seventh of January, granting a substantial glimpse into the game's initial chapters. Importantly, any advancement earned within this demo can be imported directly into the main game upon its February launch.
Beyond Just a Straightforward Re-release: The Thorough Overhaul
This title represents a comprehensive reinterpretation of the iconic 2000 RPG, originally titled Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. Taking a distinct step away from recent Dragon Quest remakes, like the recently released HD-2D iterations, this remake utilizes a unique 3D visual presentation. Locales appear to resemble detailed miniature worlds, with party members featuring a delightful stylized appearance.
"Taking into account the 3DS remake, the main quest was still quite lengthy. Consequently, the team reached a determination that we wanted to tighten the story, [and] craft an experience for contemporary audiences."
Major Gameplay Improvements and Updates
The development team has implemented numerous enhancements to update the original gameplay loop. These include:
- Quick Overworld Battles: Taking a cue from contemporary role-playing games, low-level foes are now dispatched instantly on the exploration screen without entering a separate traditional battle screen.
- Variable Combat Speed: Gamers have the option to speed up combat animations to quickly power through simpler encounters.
- New Job System: One brand new job class was created for this remake. Furthermore, party members now have the capacity to master a secondary vocation, greatly enhancing strategic options.
Such refinements seek to tackle one of the original game's most noted points of feedback: its immense playtime. That initial adventure was known to require over 100 hours to complete. The reimagined version has been specifically designed to refine progression and cut down on any repetition.
