Best-selling writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A spokesman for the company commented: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The firm did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works in total, which features a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
