British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

The boxer had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the sports world offered its support for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
