A American-Palestinian teenager who spent 270 days in imprisonment by Israel without being charged gained freedom.

Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 at the time of his arrest last February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing while residing in Florida accused of stone-throwing against settlement residents, allegations he repeatedly contested.

United States authorities said it welcomed Mohammed's liberation.

Mohammed, now 16, needed medical care upon gaining freedom, according to close relatives.

According to them, he appears showing signs of malnutrition, and is suffering from conditions acquired while detained.

Through an official statement, the youth's uncle conveyed their "immense relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"Currently, we're concentrating on ensuring Mohammed receives prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery following exposure to harsh conditions and brutal treatment over several months."

American authorities said it would continue to provide consular support for the Ibrahim family.

{"American leadership has no higher priority to ensuring the safety for United States citizens"," the department emphasized.

Several congressional representatives had signed a letter to US authorities and President Donald Trump, requesting additional efforts to secure his release.

Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four managing a frozen treats business in Florida, previously said Mohammed acknowledged allegations regarding stone throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.

The father hadn't visited or spoken to Mohammed since February, and only heard about his son's condition via legal paperwork.

He stayed absent formal charges within Ofer penitentiary in the West Bank.

The facility also contains adult prisoners, including individuals found guilty regarding severe security violations including killings.

There are around 350 Palestinian child security detainees detained within Israeli facilities, based on prison authority data.

Several lack formal charges while advocacy organizations, as well as the United Nations, say some have suffered mistreatment and torture.

After the teenager's freedom, family representatives announced the family would also continue fighting seeking justice for their relative family member Sayfollah.

This young American-Palestinian according to health authorities was beaten to death by Israeli settlers following tensions in July.

At the time, defense forces stated authorities were looking into reports a Palestinian civilian had been killed.

Mohammed and Sayfollah collaborated within the family's frozen treats establishment in Tampa, Florida.

No charges have been filed regarding Sayfollah's death.

"We expect the American government to ensure our family's safety," family representatives emphasized.
